Pet Portrait Commissions

It is my pleasure to accept commissions of your beloved pets. I will work with you to ensure that you love your artwork and will treasure it as a reminder of your special furry friend. On this page you will see a selection of past commissions, in coloured pencil and in oil paint. The little cats and dogs with hats and bow ties are each just 4 inches tall, in Coloured Pencil, commissioned as table settings for a Christmas wedding. All the cats and dogs had belonged to the Bride or Groom over the years - such a lovely idea. You can see from the variety of images below that your portrait will be bespoke and personal to you. The process

I work from your photograph (I will give you instructions of how to take a good photograph for reference and help you choose the best picture) or I can take a photograph if you live nearby. I have a waiting list system, so if you are commissioning for a birthday gift, or Christmas, it is important that you let me know the required date as early as possible. I suggest you allow 4 - 8 weeks to receive your artwork, but there can be exceptions (ie a last-minute emergency!). You will always know when to expect your artwork and I will keep you involved once the drawing or painting has started. It is exciting commissioning a piece and I want you to be delighted with your purchase.

The details

You can choose what size you would like your portraits. Both my ‘Christmas Series’ and ‘Lulu’, the Greyhound, (also shown here as video) are tiny artworks - each one is no bigger than your mobile phone, and they make a lovely gift. These start at £250 (for 5” x 4”) which includes your pet’s ‘head and shoulder’ with no background. They are completed using Coloured Pencil. You can of course have a larger size, and a background if you require, which we can discuss before work commences. You can also opt for a portrait in oils. For pets, these start at size 8” x 10”, at £1200.
